We will be presenting on our work in more than 50 towns and cities to make local games tied to history and the identity of a place with public libraries. The publication is co-authored by Benjamin Stokes, Eric Schoenborn, Hazel Arroyo and Meagan Couture. Ben and Eric will be presenting on Tuesday afternoon at the conference. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digraconference2026.com\/\">DiGRA 2026<\/a> is one of the most important global conferences for research on games, and this year it will be hosted in Maynooth, just outside Dublin. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"529\" src=\"https:\/\/playfulcity.net\/go\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/g4c2026.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3457\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.7769551133734383;width:228px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/playfulcity.net\/go\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/g4c2026.jpeg 940w, https:\/\/playfulcity.net\/go\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/g4c2026-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/playfulcity.net\/go\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/g4c2026-768x432.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>For Games for Change (G4C) in New York, we will be presenting on &#8220;<strong>Playable Cities on Wheels: Humanities Trucks, Afrofuturist Shuttles, and Civic XR<\/strong>.&#8221; Our talk connects the six &#8220;freedom trucks&#8221; crossing the country for the 250 birthday of the USA with more community-minded approaches in DC, LA, and beyond. Games for Change is a leading global festival and nonprofit that advances games for social issues and positive social change, and was co-founded by our lab director, Benjamin Stokes.
